The story and background of the Tuskeegee Airmen, the first African American pilots who fought as a unit in World War II. They were, at one point, commanded by General Benjamin O. Davis, Jr., who retired as a full General, on the orders of President Bill Clinton. Their exploits have been the subject of a number of movies, including the HBO made for TV movie The Tuskeegee Airmen, and the 2012 movie, premiering January 20, 2012, called Red Tails (a nickname for the group, based on their insignia). George Lucas is the Executive Producer, and Cuba Gooding, Jr., is a featured actor.
